LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT AFTER CARE CENTRE
Purpose of aftercare
It is a place where children can be happy in a homely environment.
It is a place where children can learn, play and establish relationships in a loving, yet disciplined environment.
It is a place where children can feel safe.
It is a place where parents can have peace of mind.
Structure of aftercare
A set daily routine is followed.
Learners report at the aftercare and are marked on registers.
Learners have lunch, thereafter they follow the daily routine and report for homework.
After homework, it’s playtime.
General Rules
Learners must report at aftercare for register to be taken.
Learners must show respect towards one another and be honest at all times.
Bullying, teasing and stone throwing is unacceptable.
No playing and eating in bathrooms.
All bags must be kept neatly at all times.
Learners must obey the rules and assignments.
Toys are only acceptable on Fridays.
After Care Menu
Notes to parents
Learners must please be collected strictly before or at 18:00.
Aftercare personnel must be notified when learners are collected by someone else or when learners will not be attending aftercare.
Homework must be checked and revised. It is still the parents’ responsibility.
Learners are responsible for own stationary.
Normal casual clothes must be packed and clearly marked.
If any information changes (contact numbers etc.), please inform us as soon as possible.

Homework
Foundation Phase
Homework is done under the supervision of a teacher. In this phase, homework is done very thoroughly.
Each learner receives a homework page which is approved by all teachers according to the homework policy. It is still the parents’ responsibility to revise homework.
The foundation phase group is very large, thus reading should be done at home.
Grade 3 - Grade 7
Holiday Care
Holiday care is available during school holidays at an additional cost per day.
We are open every school holiday, but closed on public holidays.
A holiday program will be offered if at least ten learners attend.
